Hey fellow apprentices,
Now that we’ve reached the end of the original 12 guides to self-mastery, I wanted to take a moment to reflect, re-assess and explain what you can expect next from me (it’s good news, don’t worry).
Before we get started, it’s about time you met the face behind the your weekly dose of personal development.
👋🏼 “Hi there. My name is Charlie”
I’m the one who’s been sending you emails at 6am on Friday’s.
A little background about me: I’m a coach, consultant and entrepreneur obsessed with challenging myself to do things that push me to new heights and building organisations that help others to do the same.
Being self-employed and providing my clients with a wide range of services, I’m living a portfolio career of things that interest me, combining a love for the future of work with personal development.
In my short 23 years on this planet (almost 24…) I’ve studied at Universities in the UK, Denmark & China, built 3 entirely different companies, hitch-hiked across Europe and clocked a top 10 UK time over the Half-Marathon.
Basically, I just can’t say no to a good challenge.
If we’re not connected on LinkedIn, drop me a request here. I would love to meet some more of you!
📈 The Numbers after 3 Months
Let’s start with the cold, hard numbers.
Watching them tick up has been an addiction stronger than the TikTok algorithm when you’re recovering from a hangover.
There are days when nothing happens and others where you gain 200 subscribers in the space of a week - all thanks to a post that went just a little viral on LinkedIn (4.5m views). If you’re interested, it’s here.
Now for the total traffic.
As with subscribers, the view count fluctuates like a city skyline, creating skyscrapers out of the weekly guides and bungalows out of the days in-between. But overall, there’s definitely a positive upward trend that I’ll put down to readers returning back to past guides they want to re-read!
The Lesson - You can write the best content in the world, but if no-one actually reads, watches or listens to it, what’s the point? So, double down on the marketing and discover consistent ways to find new audience members.
👀 The Journey getting Here
Writing 1,000 words a week has been tough.
It takes me about 5 hours to sit down, stream my consciousness into a keypad and summarise hundreds of books and my 23 years of life experience into an easy-to-read 5 min guide.
To get me in that flow state, I’ve been jamming to the latest hits on my Discover Weekly playlist, huddling in the corners of London cafes and meeting up with a group of fellow keyboard warriors affectionately named the “Sunday Scribblers”.
Now we’re 12 guides later, I’m pretty proud of how far we’ve come and the journey we’ve been on together to build to the 295 of you who decide to read and then re-read my content. To all of you, here’s a big thank you.
🚀 Let’s take this up a notch
Okay, so I have this big vision.
I want to take you on a journey from being an empowered employee to a leader of an organisation of the future that creates meaningful experiences of work for their team.
To do this, I’m planning to build:
Guides to master the skills for the working world.
Self-directed course on “How to Build a Portfolio Career”.
Learning cohort on “Freelancer to Agency Owner”.
Coaching on “Scaling your Agency to 7-figures”.
Future of Work Consulting Programmes.
Then supporting all of this with an awesome community where everyone helps one another take the next step on the ladder of progress.
I’m already doing 1, 4 & 5, but I’ll need to build 2 & 3.
What does this mean for Mastery in Your 20s?
In short, the guides are going bi-weekly (fortnightly).
This gives me the time back to reinvest into the other content.
But don’t worry... I’m going to make the Guides even better than before. At least that’s the plan. To help make your (bi-)weekly guide to self-mastery the best it can be I’d LOVE to get your input.
🤝🏼 This is where YOU come in
To take this newsletter to the next level I need your expertise.
I need you to let me know what you love about Mastery In Your 20s, what can be improved and how I can make them even better.
It’ll take less than 5 mins of your time.
In return you’ll get EVEN better bi-weekly guides to self-mastery.
And still entirely FREE.
Good deal? Here’s the link…
See you on 1st July for Guide #13 👋🏼
